A Peek at our Week

Last week was quite fun with the boys!

Monday we had a play date for Ephraim with 2 boys he goes to preschool with! Both of them have younger siblings that are around Gus's age-so he gets a playdate too:)

Tuesday we spent some time at our local park to run through the splash pad and have lunch outside. Gus spent some time in them as he absolutely loves water! Ephie had lots of fun running through too!!

Wednesday we had class at the little gym. Ephie has great balance on the balance beam. He continues to love running around too. Each week they have a small skill to do with the teacher. They still are pretty basic but it is fun to watch him. And that is what is evolving in this class. The chance for us as the parents to step back and let our almost 3 years old work with the teachers.

Thursday we did storytime at the library. This can be hit or miss and this time Ephie loved it and did great:) They always have you sing row row your boat and you sit with your child And pull back and forth. And ephie sang that and did it with Gus this week so that was cute to see.

Friday we had a field trip to CityGarden in St Louis. They have a large spalsh pad and literally pools tout of fountains. The concrete pool was a little nerve wrecking but overall it was Awesome! We ended the trip with a stop at our first stl food truck that was actually a fire truck!!

Heart melting highlights:

Ephraim has been talking about how baby Gus was in my belly. He doesn't seem confused but just matter of fact.

Ephraim is waking up early and spending some time with Chris as he gets ready for work. He shaves and has been wanting to wear a belt. Usually in the morning then, he asked if he can go to work anD make money with daddy.

We got the truck pool loaded up with water do the first time. Ephraim has been doing AWESOME with peeing lately. So while swimming naked, he says I am going to pee off the truck. Goes up to the drivers cab and just pees. Good to have that truck blessed by my boy now:)

Speaking of peeing, he has been going a lot by himself now and I even knew he was awake from nap time because I heard the toliet flush! Some times he want his reward which is a icee Popsicle. Gus gets excited when he sees the Popsicle too. And ephie was a good big brother one afternoon-bit a piece of and gave it to Gus. Love seeing those moments!

We are headin out of town today and will have lots of fun things to post about for this week since we are heading to Chicago with both boys:)

Gus is 10 months old!

Gussie Goo is now ten months old!

Activity:
He officially starting crawling last Saturday. And boy is he on the go! I love watching him explore. And it is fun to see what he gravitates towards. Just like big brother, he loves going over to LE's water dish. He is quite excited whenever we can play with water. And he also loves the train table. He gets so excited to hear the tunnel make noises and he immediately crawls over there.

Food:
He is eating lots of yummy finger foods. (no baby food, we tried that and then just skipped it all together). He loves strawberries, cheese and yogurt. He will eat his veggies: peas, beans, carrots, and pasta or grains too. But he really loves when he gets to have a icee popsicle! He handles his own water cup quite well too.

Sleep:
He is taking two nice naps a day. The morning nap may be on the go depending on what we have going on. At night, I just begun trying to get him to put himself asleep. I either nurse him or Chris walks him to sleep. Some nights, he does fall asleep in your arms too. But he still wakes at night to eat. And I am hoping to that fades more and more as he gets older. The big difference I see is in my approach....with Ephraim it seemed SO crucial to get him to sleep independently. With Gus, we have realized how quickly he will move out of the baby stage, so we are very happy co-sleeping at this point.

Personality:
My mellow man is starting to voice his opinion more often. He shows me his displeasure sometimes when I lay him down for diaper changes (he would rather be on the go). But he remains overall very calm and happy.

Teeth:
Only the bottom left tooth so far!

Gus, I love your sweet smiles. And how you love playing so Big or dancing with us. You love time with your puppy and also big brother can get you giggling too. You are a big cuddler with Mom and Dad. But seem to really enjoy the independence you have now with crawling.

2 Years Later....SO BIG!

The last time I posted on this blog, it was when Ephraim started the game So Big!

My how much has happened in the last 2 years:)

And that is one reason I have begun blogging again. So I will have this as a little time capsule on mothering these 2 wonderful boys:)

Summer is Here!

Springtime is usually my favorite time of year! But having a child, I think summer might sneak into the #1 spot. There is just so many fun things to do and they all involve being outside!! Baby boy and I almost swim daily now and truly enjoy the water!
Here is updates on the baby:
Age:
Baby boy is 10 months now and is looking less and less like a baby and more and more like a little man.
Activity:
He is free standing (without holding on to anything) and maintaining his balance. He giggles when I help him walk forward and takes off using his own walker. So I feel I should have the video camera primed and ready for him to take his first steps anyday now!
Talking:
I don't think I have posted about his talking. He first said Mama on Mothers Day! Wonderful gift! He says it constant and I love it! He also says Dada. And he loves to babble. It seems everytime I get on the phone, he becomes a chatterbox. And at mealtimes with other people too, if he is not involved in the conversation he will just get louder and louder.
Diet:
Baby still nurses and also eats 3 meals a day. He is a good eater and enjoys all food groups. He is quite picky about his fruits, I am assuming it because of the textures. I have tried to trick him and stick in a banana but he just spits it out. I eat a banana every morning and my son HATES them. Go figure. He likes deli meat, LOVES watermelon, starting to enjoy cottage cheese. And loves to play with any water that spills on his tray. Meal times have become quite messy.
Speaking of water, he loves to explore the dog's water dish EVERYDAY. I seriously don't know how to keep a bowl out for the dog and prevent him from splashing it all out. He has a water table outside to enjoy and gets in almost daily in the big pool too. So he should have plenty of time with water:)
Personality:
Baby boy is very sweet, funny and good-natured. We have heard several times, what a patient boy he is. He truly goes with the flow and not much gets to him. He is happy and truly loves his puppy. He loves to explore, opening and closing doors all over the house. He really has become vertical lately, where he even is cruising along walls. And he absolutely LOVES to be NAKED. Anytime the diaper is off, he is up and going with his naked booty. Too funny!!! He also loves books. He enjoys when I make funny animal noises and I hope he loves animals as much as I did as a kid. His daddy can always get a giggle out him playing tick tock, dancing or just goofing around. And daddy is the master at putting this boy to sleep.
Sleep:
As far as I am concerned, we have conquered the SLEEP battle. We started sleep training over a month ago. He still cries when I put him in his crib to go to sleep but it is much more managable. He still wakes up 1-2 times a night, but this is much more managable. I actually feel rested but I still take naps somedays when the baby naps. (Especially if I have to go into work). He is such a cuddler, I know he would love to sleep with us always. And we don't have rigid rules about it all, we just try to enjoy our son while he is still so small and cuddly:)

Baby boy, we love your sweet smile, killer blue eyes and warm loving personality.

Take 3!!

So I have attempted to blog twice before. But it has never stuck with me. And then I read my friends blogs and feel the urge to try again. Simply so that I have the memories of our son. He seems to grow so fast and these moments are so precious. Don't get me wrong, there are other topics to blog about: marriage, girlfriends, family, travel. But first of all, I would like to share about motherhood and my preicous baby boy!

So here is trying (for the 3rd time) to blog about living Life as a Lipp:)
